How busy are you?

I was reading “The Word for Today” this morning and could really relate to the following article, so I thought I’d pass it on.

"When you’re constantly multi-tasking, important things can fall between the cracks. A lawyer who negotiated an unbelievable deal in favour of his client was asked how he did it. He replied, ‘I was the only person at the meeting that day who didn’t spend the whole time text messaging!’

A respected researcher says we’ve trained our brains ‘to constantly flit around the universe of messages and information, seeking brief hits of excitement. Grazing ceaselessly, we never dig too deeply before moving on to the next distraction... and it ratchets up our stress levels in ways we’re only starting to understand.’

Another expert says: ‘We get more information in 72 hours than our parents received in a month, and most people don’t have the skills to deal with it. They let new things in, but don’t red rid of old information they wanted to act on.’

When was the last time you enjoyed some relaxed, uninterrupted down time? Can you even remember? We’re so results-oriented that unless we’re doing something that can be quantified, we think it’s a waste of time. The fact is you need time away from the unrelenting onslaught of information to regroup, reflect and recharge. Jesus had a schedule to keep, people to minister to, disciples depending on Him, and a short time to do it all. Nevertheless, ‘He withdrew...into the wilderness, and prayed’ Jesus said, ’Come...apart...and rest a while’, because when you don’t come apart, you fall apart!"

The falling apart bit really grabbed my attention. It makes you think about how our lives have changed over the past 10 years or so. We are so much busier now and our computers and mobiles have for some people taken over our lives. I know I’m guilty of spending too much time on the computer. Just checking and answering emails seems to take forever, or I think I’ll just quickly do a bit of research and before I know a couple of hours have vanished, is there such a thing as 'computer time'?

No wonder we have so much stress, if we could just learn to take a step back and put some quite time in our daily schedule we’d all be a lot less stressed and a lot more happier. Now all I have to do is figure out how to do it! Yoga anyone?

Choc Mint Slice - yum!!

I've made a new batch of our Choc Mint Slice, yes, this is the one that gets all the "it looks and smells good enough to eat" comments. Organic, yes, edible, no.

I must admit this batch did turn out pretty good. Each batch of handmade soap turns out slightly different, it's impossible to get them to look exactly the same each time but that adds to the excitement of unveiling and cutting each new batch to see how they have turned out. Oh, how I love making soap!

Our Choc Mint Slice feels wonderful on your skin, it contains Avocado Oil which is a superb emollient and is nourishing for dry, mature, damaged and dehydrated skin.

It also contains Hemp Seed Oil which is extracted from the seed of the common hemp; it has a history of use dating back thousands of years to the Chinese Ming Dynasty, and has long been a popular natural remedy in Eastern cultures.

Hemp Seed Oil helps to keep the skin supple and restores tissues; it has anti-aging properties and is a wonderful healing oil for a variety of skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, and dry skin.

Don’t forget the Peppermint and Spearmint Essentials oils. Peppermint Essential Oil is great for skin inflammation, irritation or itching. Mentally, it clears the old foggy brain, helps with concentration and is good as a stimulant for mental fatigue. Peppermint is also the ideal remedy for all digestive disorders, including nausea and vomiting.

Spearmint Essential Oil is calming, relaxing and uplifting, rather than stimulating and is also great in treating mental fatigue and depression.

If you’re look for a All Natural soap bar to cheer you up or wake you up, you’ll find Choc Mint’s cheery aroma delightfully refreshing. Where can you find it? Pure and Natural AromaBeauty, of course:)

and the winner is..........

It was a hard decision deciding on the winner of our two handmade soap bars, but after much thought I decided to give our Free Organic Soaps to Kirsty from Hamperific.

The reason I chose this entry is because Kirsty hit on my whole philosophy of my business and that is to offer people all natural chemical-free products, in fact that is the reason my business started.

Kirsty mentioned that she herself had problems in the past with infections caused by bath products and thought that this could be a reason people don’t use bath bombs as much anymore, this is one reason I hadn’t thought to consider.

I think one of the causes of this concern is the artificial fragrances and other chemicals contained in many bath products. You can be confident that you won’t find any synthetic fragrances or chemicals in any of our Bath Bombs or All Natural Soaps.

A few people mentioned that cost could be a factor and I realize there are lots of cheaper Bath Bombs and Handmade Soaps available that are made with cheaper ingredients and artificial fragrances and colours, but my aim is to provide the best quality all natural products that I can, at the least expensive price I can offer.

My bath bombs contain Certified Organic Shea Butter, Goat’s Milk, Sweet Almond oil, French argyle clay and of course pure essential oils, so they are wonderful for your skin.

I’d like to thank everyone that took the time to enter and give me your valued comments and Kirsty your free luxury soaps will be arriving shortly.
