Choc Mint

I must have food on my mind lately, this is the third post in a row that has handmade soaps that look, yes I have to say it, good enough to eat! I hate those dreaded words, it seems that everytime I hear them it means "No Sale".

They are the words I really don't like to hear at the markets, the how pretty, how gorgeous, how beautifuls, all mean sales, but the "it looks good enough to eat" NO sale!

So why the heck do I keep making them? don't know! I just really like the look of them and besides when you have a Natural soap that smells good enough to eat, like peppermint as above, it just seems natural to have it look that way as well.

Oh well, I'll just keep making my "Good enough to eat" soaps, there are still some customers with good taste out there, who appreciate them lol.

Sushi Anyone?

I was making some little bear soaps to take to the markets, you know the molds you buy from K-mart? cute little things that I thought would be nice for children. How hard could it be, make a batch of soap and just pour into the mold, right? Wrong, the poor little things looked like they'd been attacked with a hammer; their faces were all mangled and just awful. I wouldn't be able to give them away let alone sell them, lol.

What the heck was I going to do with them? I didn't want to waste them and they were just plain too awful to use the way they were. With the old brain working very hard, I decided to turn my poor ugly little bears into Sushi Bars, took them to the markets and not one single one sold, oh dear!!!!

Oh well, at least they look a lot prettier than the ugly little soapy bears. If you'd like some Sushi Bars, you know where to go:)

My new soap stamp

Well, I finally ordered my soap stamp, as you know I've been wanting one for years and years and just hadn't gotten around to ordering one. My beautiful soap stamp comes from Anhoki at Anhoki's Place. Anhoki is very down to earth, easy to talk to and just wonderful to do businees with and John who made my lovely stamp did a fantastic job. I'd gladly reccommened them to anyone who's thinking of having one done. Thanks so much Anhoki and John:)

Chocolate Biscotti

This one looks good enough to eat! looks like chocolate with biscuit pieces I'm hoping? made with cocoa and shea butters with a delicious aroma of orange, lemon and spearmint.
I was so anxious before I cut it, when I first took it out of the mold it didn't look so great and I really had my fingers crossed that once it was cut, it would look a lot better. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Maybe a good handmade soap for Mothers Day? I know a few Mums who'd love this one.

What's New?

Hi everyone, well it's been quite a while since I've written a post, it's amazing how quickly the time flys by, I've had quite a lot going on since I last wrote, so I thought it was time I put pen to paper as it were:) As you can see on the right hand side I have my new Logo and I'm really happy with how it turned out, I hope you all like it. What's been cooking in my kitchen lately? A new batch of Cedarwood & Spice, I've been making this one for nearly 5 years now and it's still as popular today as it was back then.

Another batch of Spiced Lemon. the specks are Poppy seed and Lemongrass & Ginger tea, coloured naturally of course with turmeric and yellow clay.
Last, but not least another batch of "Naked Beer Bar", so called becaused it's made with lots and lots of Pure Blonde Naked Beer, another very popular one that's fantasic as a shampoo bar. Available for my lovely customers on my website now. Hope you all had a fantastic Easter!

Spiced Lemon

A new batch of Spiced Lemon is now ready, it's been slowly changing as time goes by, tweeting here and there, adding a bit more this and a bit more that. I'm glad to say that I'm finally happy with it, it smells beautiful! fresh and uplifting with a bit of zing.

This one has Shea, Avocado and Cocoa Butters added, so you just know its got to be good for your skin. Coloured a dark lemon with a reddish swirl using yellow and red clays and a sprinkling of poppy seeds for light exfoliation, it's my new favourite:) you can find it here.

Just an update on my new Logo and Banner, still waiting! it's just taking a bit longer than I thought it would, but hopefully in the next week it will be done, can't wait!

Calming Calendula

I've made my Calming Calendula soap with goat's milk and infused the oils with organic calendula. Calendula is a wonderful all-around skin treatment, that soothes, heals and helps maintain skin in perfect health so is a great addition to handmade soaps. Fragranced with essential oils of Rose Geranium, Sweet Orange, Lavender and Patchouli it smells warm and inviting. I've taken this photo outside as you can see:) as it seems to be easier for me to get a decent photo there, just wish I could do the same inside lol.

I've been watching the news showing all the heavy snow some of you are getting over there, I hope you are all safe. Thinking of you....
